@Oleg You seem to be here to just argue with other people for no reason other than arguing, because the first step to having a productive discussion is treating other people's arguments the best way possible, and instead you are rambling and trying to frame it poorly... oh, well. Your argument is that you don't want people to use better technology because your computer can't handle it. I disagree with that point of view. They should enable all of the best technologies, and if your computer can't handle it, just decrease the quality until it does.

  • Kim Ekholm

    Kim Ekholm

    Bulan Yang lalu

@Oleg That perhaps is a trade-off you're willing to make, I prefer the higher frame rate and can see a clear difference between 24, 60, 90, and 120. Of course, the latter two are irrelevant for video consumption. I rather charge my device once in the middle of the day to run 90 or 120hz for my UI. In my opinion, the 60hz refresh rate makes sense for the recordings. Sucks for you that your 12yr old hardware can't handle it. Video is also posted in 5k, not forgetting about resolution.

  • Oleg

    Bulan Yang lalu

@Kim Ekholm I can also run this video at 1080p smooth at 60 fps on my iPad Pro 12.9". But during a day I prefer to work at my desk and laptop with external monitor and keyboard. And regarding higher fps on screens, here's simple example: I turned off the ProMotion (120 Hz) function a long time ago on my iPad Pro. For me it is not too important, I prefer a longer battery life. And for some, this is almost the most important feature, many are so impatiently waiting for iPhone with 120 Hz, but I don't care. That is, everyone has their own preferences. I have made many different screen recordings for myself at normal fps and they look absolutely good as guides and useful, informative, not entertaining content. Moreover, even on this very channel, there were previously reviews of new versions of various OS with normal frame rate, and no one complained, since they looks good, since there are more static frames than scrolling, which, by the way, is also not an obstacle for viewing. _"Even 4-year-old hardware can run 4k 60fps smoothly"._ My laptop is from 2009, that is, over 12 years old. ) I love it. For most of the tasks I need, it still does quite well.

Some of the later tips are pretty decent, but starting with pumping the trackpad speed to almost max and somehow thinking that tap to click is better than... ya know... click to click... is a questionable decision I'd say lol. Trackpad acceleration is pretty great by default if you just move your finger quickly, which works especially well on the new gigantic trackpads on these machines. Sure, I turn it up like 2 notches, but any more than that is just failing to take advantage of the built in excellent mouse acceleration. And seriously... how do you not prefer the satisfying *thunk* of the trackpad click?? Especially when your finger is already on the place you want to click anyway! Lifting your finger off of the pad will just inherently lead to inaccuracy, unless you use one finger to track and one to tap, which is just additional effort for little to no gain. Different worlds, I guess, but to each their own! 🤯
